Pakistan local: Ideal CC emerge victorious

Karachi, Dec 20: Ideal CC notched up a seven-wicket victory over Airport Gymkhana in the 15th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket Festival at the Karachi Gymkhana Ground here on Wednesday.

After winning the toss, Airport Gymkhana made 185 for seven in their allotted quota of 25 overs.

Openers Athar Laeeq (46 off 39 balls with nine fours) and Zahid Ahmed (42 off 28 balls with eight boundaries) shared a partnership of 66.

Bilal Murtaza stroked five fours in his knock of 46 off 37 deliveries while Saad Umar contributed 32 off 29 balls with three boundaries.

Leg-spinner Zulfiqar Haider claimed three for 22. Off-spinners Saifullah Magsi and Wasim Naeem took two wickets apiece.

Ideal CC reached their target in 22.2 overs scoring 189 for the loss of three wickets.

Wasim Naeem blasted 62 off 38 deliveries. He hit nine fours and two sixes. Wasim was involved in an opening stand of 98 with Iqbal Shaikh (37 off 29 balls with four fours and two sixes).

Shaheen Malik struck an unbeaten 44 off 29 balls with five hits to the fence while Iftikhar Ahmed made 30 off as many balls with two sixes.
