Pakistan local:Tapal CC in last four

Karachi, Dec 19: Tapal CC scored a crushing 10-wicket victory over CDC to enter the semi-finals of the 15th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket Festival at the Karachi Gymkhana Ground here on Tuesday.

Requiring 117 for victory, Tapal CC raced to their target in a mere 9.3 overs without losing a wicket.

Hanif-ur-Rehman hammered 10 fours and two sixes in making an unbeaten 62 off 26 deliveries. Fellow opener Nadeem Shaikh struck 53 off 31 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, CDC managed a modest score of 116 for eight in their allotted quota of 25 overs.

Irfan Ahmed top-scored with 28 while Saad Wasim hit 26.

Veteran slow left-armer Ziauddin captured three for 18, off-spinner Tariq Hussain three for 20 and Hanif-ur-Rehman two for 20.

Meanwhile, Karachi Stars received a walkover when their opponents Mohammad Hussain failed to turn up on Monday for their Group D. However, both teams are out of running having lost their previous matches in the tournament.
