Five of the current Pakistan Test squad, plus two banned players, have been summoned to appear in the Sindh High Court on December 12th.
Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Mushtaq Ahmed as well as the disgraced Saleem Malik and Ata-ur-Rehman will have to answer a petition calling for their suspension on the grounds of match-fixing.
Lawyer Abdul Qadir Mandokhail, who is bringing the petition, claims that the players were found guilty of match-fixing in the Qayyum report released in May. Others had interpreted the report as finding the players not guilty of match-fixing, though it did strongly criticize them.
Mandokhail has attempted to bring the case before, but Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed rejected it in September. Mandokhail was also fined by the judge and criticized for being a publicity seeker.
His new attempt to punish what he sees as the players' indiscretions was accepted by the provincial high court earlier this month.
