At Multan, February 16, 2006 (day/night). India won by five wickets. Toss: India.
Pakistan crashed again to hand India an emphatic five-wicket win, and with it the series. Against
an energetic and efficient bowling attack, Pakistan fell to 29 for four in the 13th over. Sreesanth
and R. P. Singh did find lift, and the right line to induce errors, but also took advantage of some
hopelessly charitable strokeplay. From that position, even Pakistan's deep batting line-up could do
little; Inzamam-ul-Haq, on his home ground, briefly threatened a revival but never had enough
partners. Left-armers Singh and Pathan ended with seven wickets between them. A target of 162
was little challenge, despite Mohammad Sami removing both openers in a hostile opening spell.
Man of the Match: R. P. Singh.
