A review of Pakistan v Sri Lanka, Asia Cup, 2011-12

At Mirpur, March 15, 2012 (day/night). Pakistan won by six wickets. Pakistan 5pts. Toss: Sri Lanka.
Pakistan booked a place in the final after a combination of Aizaz Cheema's luck, Saeed Ajmal's magic and some excellent catching brought them a comfortable victory, with 61 balls to spare - and a bonus point. Cheema took four wickets in a one-day international for the first time, three of them down to poor shot-selection; the other one - Dilshan top-edging a pull to midwicket - owed much to the bowler's shoulder strength on a pitch that otherwise offered little bounce. Ajmal made the crucial breakthrough when he threaded a doosra through Tharanga's defences to break a stand of 96 with Sangakkara and spark a terminal collapse of six for 27. Pakistan made a nervy start, slipping to 33 for three, but Misbah-ul-Haq and Umar Akmal settled down - defying the returning Malinga - in a stand eventually worth 152.
Man of the Match: Aizaz Cheema.
