Patron's Trophy wrap-up after Round-6

The hitherto strong PIA side suffered a further drop down the points table after many of their players were selected for the Sharjah Trophy. Thus, at the end of the 6th round, NBP is at the top with 45 points, Customs running 2nd with 39 and HBL have grabbed 3rd position with 33 points.
ABL v SGCP
Allied Bank won handsomely by an innings and 12 runs. SGCP won the toss and scored 255. In response, ABL were all out for 442 and took a lead of 187. SGCP were not up to the task and were bowled out at 175 in their 2nd innings. ABL?s Mohammad Zahid (not the Test fastie) took 9, while Arshad Khan grabbed 7 wickets in the match. Naved-ul-Hasan was the top scorer for ABL with a defiant 83.
HBL v ADBP
HBL managed three points in a drawn match against ADBP. HBL after winning the toss, declared at a big total of 547 losing only 6 wickets. Hasan Raza and Imran Farhat hit double centuries. ADBP was bowled out at 318 and forced to follow-on with Abdur Rehman and Kabir Khan grabbing 3 wickets each. ADBP fought back well to survive the last day and scored 280 for 5. Zahoor Elahi played a match saving innings of 76.
PWD v CUSTOMS
The first innings lead allowed Customs three points. Batting first after winning the toss, Customs declared at a massive 604 for 7. Imran Mohammad, Aamer Bashir and Asim Kamal made centuries. PWD fought well to score 393 but had to follow-on. Customs Tabish Nawab was the main striker getting 6 wickets. At the close of play PWD had scored 228 losing 5 wickets in their 2nd innings and the match was drawn. Bilal Asad was top scorer with 112.
NBP v KRL
National Bank won an important match by 69 runs. KRL, also suffering due to some players on international duty, won the toss and restricted NBP to 204. Jaffar Nazir and Mohammad Asif grabbed 3 wickets each. KRL scored 293 and took a lead of 89. In their 2nd innings, NBP scored 273 with the help of Kamran Akmal?s 109 and set an easy target of 185. KRL were not up to the task and collapsed for 115.
PIA v WAPDA
This was the major upset of the tournament so far as PIA lost against WAPDA by 98 runs. PIA won the toss and decided to bowl first, WAPDA scored a good 331 with Rizwan Malik and Shoaib Khan their top scorers with 82 and 79, while Fazl-e-Akbar grabbed 4. PIA was bowled out for 195 with Ghulam Ali resisting with a 67 while Raees Amjad took 4 wickets. In the 2nd go, WAPDA scored 185 and set PIA target of 322 to win, but PIA could only muster 223.
