Islamabad, Nov 6: The three pool-B, Quaid-i-Azam Trophy fixtures
scheduled to be played at Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Saturday had to
be abandoned because of soggy condition of the grounds.
Play at the water-logged CRA ground for the KCCA-Blues vs Islamabad
tie was abandoned after first inspection at 10.00 am. The CRA ground
is devoid of proper protection against rainfall, apart from being a
poor centre with inadequate facilities to host Quaid Trophy
matches. Ikram Rabbani and Nadeem Ghouri are the umpires while Farrukh
Zaman is the match referee.
The Redco-Rawalpindi fixture at Margalla groundwas also called-off at
10.15 am. Habib Bank Limited vs Khan ResearchLaboratories match at
latter's ground was called off after tea. Meanwhile, it had started to
drizzle again in the evening and prospects for play on the second day
also seemed doubtful
