Managing to bowl Madhya Pradesh out for 229, Rajasthan then
proceeded inexorably towards the victory target, winning the
Ranji Trophy Central Zone league match by three wickets on the
final day.
Starting from a good position of 180/3, Madhya Pradesh collapsed
dramatically, with only S Abbas Ali making a fifty. The remaining
seven wickets fell for 49 runs, leaving Rajasthan a target of
173.
The home side started off solidly, putting up a 40-run opening
partnership. Manish Majithia, however, returned figures of
19-1-57-4, wrecking the middle order with some fine bowling.
Support for him at the other end was missing, and the rival
batsmen took advantage of this; Gagan Khoda, batting for once at
number five, made an unbeaten 39, seeing his side to victory with
three wickets to spare.
Rajasthan thus picks up eight points from this match, while
Madhya Pradesh garners none.
