Round Three: Six more results on last day

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) fought back from the brink to beat Higher Education Commission (HEC) by 94 runs as six more matches were decided at the end of the third round in the Inter-Department Qualifying Tournament.
It was touch and go for KPT who started at 16 for four after a first innings lead of 78 and were dismissed for 102 only setting a 181-run victory target for the students. An inspired bowling performance by Fahad Khan (6-27) and Adeel Malik (4-51) earned the debutant team an unlikely victory. Fahad finished the match with figures of 8-68 while Adeel ended with 7-94.
Defence Housing Authority (DHA) also scraped up a 36-run win over Dewan Farooq Motors Limited (DFML). Nasir Khan hauled in 5-55 to end with 7-100 in the match as DFML, chasing 213 for victory only managed 177. DFML's last eight wickets went down for 59.
Allied Bank Limited (ABL) continued their fine form when they eased to an innings win against Leo International in the first session. Leo, starting-off at 97-6 and needing 167 to make ABL bat again were bowled out for 124 with pacer Abdur Rauf scooping 6 wickets for a match haul of 11-110.
Kabir Khan also hauled-in 10 wickets to guide Habib Bank Limited (HBL) to an innings and 28 run victory over Saga. Kabir, a former left-arm Test pacer, followed up his first innings 4-67 with 6-31 as Saga, starting the day at 52-1, were bundled out for 171.
Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) earned maximum points when they defeated Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) by seven wickets. Saad Altaf took 5-91 in POF's second innings to provide his batters a chance of getting the required 77 runs for the win which they achieved in 16.1 overs.
In this round, seven matches ended in a result While the remaining three ended in draws. Wapda secured a first-innings lead for points against PTCL as did National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) against Service Industries and Customs against Pak PWD.
