South Africa v Pakistan 1997-1998

At Centurion, April 17

15-Apr-1999
At Centurion, April 17. South Africa won by seven wickets. Toss: Pakistan.
South Africa ensured their place in the finals in a tediously one-sided game, needing only 42 overs to bundle out Pakistan and a mere 36 to overtake a paltry total of 145. Pakistan's batsmen were frustrated by South Africa's pace attack, which included Donald, playing his 100th one-day international and his first since he was injured in the Second Test against Sri Lanka. But three Pakistanis fell to run-outs, brilliantly executed by Kallis, Crookes and Rhodes. Though opener Rindel fell for nought, Kallis shared half-century stands with Kirsten and Cullinan to steer his side to a predictable win.
Man of the Match: J. H. Kallis. Attendance: 15,291.
