A strong Otago A side has been named for next week's final match in the Provincial A tournament, against Canterbury in Timaru.
Young Otago Volts representative Jordan Sheed will captain the team which contains several players with significant first-class experience. Named in the selection are David Sewell, Marcel McKenzie, Warren McSkimming and Nathan McCullum.
Otago heads the tournament table by one point from Canterbury and it could be - depending on the outcome of this week's games between Wellington and Central Districts - the Timaru encounter falls into the category of winner-take-all.
The Otago A side, for the match at Aorangi Oval, Timaru on Sunday and Monday is: Jordan Sheed (captain), Robert King, Anthony Wilkinson, Darin Smith, Marcel McKenzie, Warren McSkimming, Tim Weston, Jarrad Waldron, Nathan McCullum, Simon Murley, Eric Standfield, David Sewell.
Points are: Otago A 66.77, Canterbury A 65.62, New Zealand Under-19 64.66, Wellington A 63.08, Northern Districts A 50.04, Auckland A 46.77, Central Districts A 33.92.
