Teams named for upcoming fixtures

The Hong Kong Cricket Association has named teams to play in the upcoming ACC Premiership League fixture against Singapore and the match against the touring Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) side.

ACC Premier League 2006
The match against Singapore will be Hong Kong's first outing in the three-day format ACC Premier League 2006 that replaces the ACC Fast Track Countries Tournament played in 2004 and 2005. The match will be played in Singapore on 22-24 September 2006.
The 14-man Hong Kong squad for the ACC Premier League 2006 match against Singapore is:
Tim Smart (Captain), Irfan Ahmed, Nadeem Ahmed, Butt Hussain, Najeeb Amar, Afzaal Haider, Graeme Jardine, Roy Lamsam, Jamie Atkinson, Jamshaid Khan, Jawaid Iqbal, Ilyas Gul, Sajid Khan, Robbie Bacon
A number of players who represented Hong Kong at the recent ACC Trophy 2006 were unavailable for selection. Vacancies in the squad have been filled by a number of promising youngsters including Jamie Atkinson, Sajjid Khan and Robbie Bacon.
Hong Kong's remaining fixtures in the ACC Premier League 2006 will be against Nepal (13-15 October), Malaysia (3-5 November 2006) and UAE (24-26 November).

An HKCA XI will face a full-strength Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) side at Kowloon Cricket Club on 8th October 2006. The HKCA team will be led by KCC's Manoj Cheruparambil.
The 12-man HKCA XI team for the match against MCC is:
Manoj Cheruparambil (Captain), Tim Smart, Rahul Sharma, Butt Hussain, Najeeb Amar, Afzaal Haider, Shkawat Ali, Jamie Atkinson, Munir Dar, Jawaid Iqbal, Ankur Sharma, Sajid Khan (12th man)
The MCC's short tour includes a match against Hong Kong Cricket Club on 7th October and a Twenty/20 match against an HKCA President's XI on 9th October.
