Issy Wong can get you wickets and talk about the kind of random things that come up when you're doing nothing on a random Tuesday afternoon, whether it's discussing the existence of aliens or explaining why pizzas need to be delivered in square boxes.
In this rapid-fire interview, Wong, with every answer, proves what a cool friend she would be.
She starts off by picking her favourite cheese, Babybels, which might seem basic, but hey, she's not being a try-hard. Then on the matter of whether there are aliens, she answers, quite sensibly, with a definite yes. "The universe is infinitely big. It's going to keep on until infinity till they find a solar system where there's aliens."
You know she'll be happy to offer you coffee when you drop by since her favourite kitchen appliance is a coffee machine.
She then goes on to explain why round pizzas come in square boxes: "…because they are easier to tessellate when stacking them in the back of a lorry so they don't roll everywhere. There would be empty space between them [if the boxes were circular]." We're already wishing we could ask her to help us assemble some Ikea furniture.
Is cereal a soup? We'd debate her on it, but Wong is on the side of soup-cereal once milk gets into the mix.
What's the most annoying instrument, according to Wong? "The kazoo, when Deano [Charlie Dean] is playing it."
We would like to hang out with Wong, but maybe not go on a road trip with her, given she says she is pretty bad with directions. "I'm always lost and I'm very stubborn when I'm lost as well. I refuse to just turn around and admit that I took a wrong turn, or take a 45-minute detour because I know exactly where we are."
But if we were in The Hunger Games together, it might not be too bad. Wong might have some useful skills there: "I'm quite fast, but I'm not very good at murdering people." That's pretty all right with us!
Meanwhile, another important question: what's the best biscuit to have with a cup of tea? Players from the Hundred answer.
