The Pakel GSM Cup

Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Paktel GSM Cup, 2004-05

15-Apr-2005
At Rawalpindi, October 9, 2004. Sri Lanka won by seven wickets. Sri Lanka 6 pts. Toss: Sri Lanka.
After their promising display at Peshawar this was a dreadful performance by Zimbabwe, which called into question their right to be in this company. On a blameless pitch they lost their last nine wickets for 50 thanks to a mix of ill-discipline and poor technique, and Sri Lanka could even afford to juggle around their batting order. The match finished 35 minutes into the scheduled second session, which was a relief to everyone bar the Zimbabweans: strong winds had whipped up a dust storm around the ground, forcing the bails to be removed after only five overs of Sri Lanka's reply.
Man of the Match: M. F. Maharoof.
