1) Tours to South Africa by New Zealand and Sri Lanka 2000/2001 season

1) Tours to South Africa by New Zealand and Sri Lanka 2000/2001 season.
a) The New Zealand team will travel straight to South Africa from the ICC knockout tournament, which takes place in Nairobi from October 3-15.
b) For the second time, all six Test centers will host a Test match this summer.
c) The first Test match against New Zealand will be played in Bloemfontein. Allan Donald has 297 Test wickets to his name and this will give him the chance to reach the 300-wicket mark at his home ground. The match will be Bloemfontein's second Test.
d) Apart from the Boxing Day and New Year Test matches, all Tests will start on a Friday. An exception to this is the Port Elizabeth Test between South Africa and New Zealand which will start on Thursday November 30. This is to accommodate a request by New Zealand for three days' rest and practice between the back-to-back second and third Tests.
e) A total of twelve One-Day Internationals will be played in South Africa during the season. For the first time Paarl, Kimberley and Benoni will host ODI's involving the South African national team. This is a great opportunity to lift the profile of cricket in these centres like never before.
f) For the first season ever, all 11 affiliates will host a One-Day International involving the South African national team. Cape Town will host two matches involving South Africa. (In the 1999/2000 season, two matches involving South Africa were played at The Wanderers).
g) Potchefstroom will host its first ever One-Day International match - a day-night match between South Africa and New Zealand on October 20.
h) Consistent with UCBSA policy, four matches involving the touring teams will take place in disadvantaged areas of South Africa.
i) New Zealand will play in Soweto and in Alice ii) Sri Lanka will play at the PPC Oval in Port Elizabeth and in Chatsworth
2) Matters arising out of the 2003 World Cup Policy Committee meeting on May 5.
a) Those affiliates wishing to host
i) The 2003 World Cup Opening Ceremony and opening match ii) The two Semi-Finals iii) The Final and Closing Ceremony
have been asked to motivate at the next 2003 World Cup Policy Committee meeting (in September or October 2000) why they believe the should be awarded the matches. It is the intention of the Committee to make known their decisions regarding these matches by the end of the year.
b) It was also agreed at the meeting that all six Test centres would host five matches each. The tournament will consist of 54 matches.
3) Ticket details for the Super Challenge 2000 series in Melbourne in August for South African fans wishing to travel to Australia. Tickets can be purchased on the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com.au or www.baggygreen.com.au
