Warriors batsmen drafted by Eagles

Retravision Warriors Rookie batsman Brett Jones was today drafted onto the West Coast Eagles Rookie List for season 2004.

Retravision Warriors Rookie batsman Brett Jones was today drafted onto the West Coast Eagles Rookie List for season 2004.
Jones has been training with the Eagles for the past few weeks and was offered a 12-month contract. Jones was previously balancing playing for Claremont in the WAFL with his Warrior commitments.
"We wish Brett all the best in his football endeavours," said Warriors Squad Coach Wayne Clark.
"Brett is a very talented cricketer but he has decided to pursue a career in a football and we will not stand in his way."
Jones said he had enjoyed his time with the Warriors but could not pass up the opportunity.
"I have immensely enjoyed my time with the Warriors," Jones said.
"But, this was not an opportunity I could afford to pass up at this stage in my life."
Jones, a top-order batsman and handy off-spin bowler, also plays for the University Cricket Club in the WACA's premier Vodafone Cup competition.
Jones will not be able to continue playing for University as the Eagles training taking up the majority of his time.
