Lancashire's explosive batting continued to fire as they made their third total of over 200 in three matches, on the way to a 50-run win against Derbyshire. Mal Loye set the tone with 39 from 21 balls and that was followed by Brad Hodge's 90 from 52 and Stuart Law's 67. James Anderson took two early wickets to put the skids under Derbyshire's reply and Hodge continued his spectacular match with 4 for 27. When rain ended the match Derbyshire were well behind the Duckworth-Lewis target.
Yorkshire wrapped up 40-run win against Durham to end their poor run of form in Twenty20. Craig White played a captain's innings with 55 from 45 and was aided by brisk knocks from Ian Harvey and Phil Jaques. Dale Benkenstein prevented any late order fireworks with 3 for 17. Benkenstein them made 53 for Durham but could not find the required support after the top-order had slipped to 23 for 3. Anthony McGrath again proved effective with his medium-pace, taking 3 for 27.

Warwickshire kept their Twenty20 season alive with a convincing 47-run win against Somerset at a dull and damp Edgbaston. Trevor Penney, returning to Warwickshire's side as the wicketkeeper, played the crucial innings making 35 from 13 balls at the end of the innings, including three consective sixes of Wesley Durston's offspin. Ian Bell responded to being omitted from England's one-day squad with 41. Somerset never got going in reply and James Anyon finished their reply with a hat-trick in his second over.

South Group

Middlesex and Sussex could only get in seven overs at Hove before the rain arrived on the south coast. Middlesex had made a promising start, reaching 56 for 1 with Owais Shah 30 not out off 20 balls. The point leaves Middlesex on the verge of a quarter-finals place, but Sussex are struggling despite having two games left.
