Shane Watson's return from a hamstring injury has been delayed again after Queensland left him out of their squad to take on South Australia in the Ford Ranger Cup match at Adelaide on Wednesday. The Bulls remain hopeful that Watson will be able to play in their Pura Cup game against the Redbacks starting on Friday.
Jimmy Maher is confident he will lead the side on Wednesday despite suffering a groin strain in Queensland's win over Victoria on Friday. Maher left the field during the Bushrangers' innings and will be assessed by the team's medical staff in the next few days.
Queensland are already down three experienced players for the one-day match, with Matthew Hayden, Andrew Symonds and Mitchell Johnson all flying to Perth ahead of the third Test against England. Craig Philipson, Scott Brant and Nathan Rimmington have replaced the trio in the squad.
