WEST INDIES v PAKISTAN 1992-93

At Kingstown, St

15-Apr-1994
At Kingstown, St. Vincent, March 30. Pakistan won by 38 runs. Toss: West Indies.
Pakistan lost the toss for the fourth time and had to graft for runs on a slow, seaming pitch. For the first time, their openers failed to bring up 50, but Aamir Sohail survived and batted steadfastly, as did the other front-line batsmen, especially Basit Ali, though they were offered few bad balls.
Pakistan's total of 186 looked inadequate only until they seized three West Indian wickets for 19 runs in the first ten overs: Lara, who had been dropped before scoring, Haynes and Richardson. The bowling matched West Indies' for accuracy and surpassed it for incisiveness and hostility. Even Sohail and Asif Mujtaba, neither a specialist spinner, played their part. In five overs they dismissed Hooper and Logie, the last serious threats.
Man of the Match: Basit Ali.
