Two crucial strikes in fading light by pacer Emmerson Sealy left Stansfeld Scott Police with the advantage over ICB Empire after an intense first-day battle.
Racing in from the northern end around 6:10 p.m., Sealy removed Avery Greene, snapped up by Brian Corbin at forward short-leg.
He surprised nightwatchman Marlon Blaggrove with a lifter next ball for Corbin to pouch his second catch under the bat.
Captain Roland Holder joined Jason Haynes and avoided further alarms until bad light ended play a few moments later.
But the Bank Hall team will be under severe pressure today against a Police attack which has the services of veteran seamer Sylvester Louis for the first time this season.
Empire's problems actually started with the run out of former Barbados opener Michael Inniss when the score was just seven.
The Police innings was built around Stanton Proverbs, who topscored with 40, and Alvin Campbell, who batted positively for 37.
Campbell shared a 42-run stand for the seventh wicket, in only 27 minutes, with wicket-keeper Wainright Brewster, who made 14. It was the biggest partnership of the innings.
Patterson Thompson took three for 50 and Robin Parris three for 24.
