Shahriar Nafees and Raqibul Hasan shared an opening stand of 116, and Mushfiqur Rahim added 50, as Bangladesh A took firm control of the second Test against Zimbabwe A on the third day at Bulawayo. Syed Rasel then dismissed Zimbabwe's openers cheaply to leave Zimbabwe A with the colossal task of chasing a further 352 runs for victory, with eight wickets remaining.
Nafees and Hasan each extended their overnight scores to strike fifties and put the match out of Zimbabwe's reach. Blessing Mahwire eventually claimed both of their wickets but, at 131 for 2, the damage had already been done. The rest of the Bangladesh side made fair contributions - Rahim added a steady 50 before he was bowled by Waddington Mwayenga's medium pace - as they posted 277 to leave Zimbabwe A chasing 388.
And they were soon in trouble as Rasel trapped Vusi Sibanda lbw for 4 (19 for 1). Rasel struck again soon after as Terrence Duffin was bowled for 16 (34 for 2). Two further runs were added before the close, but Zimbabwe had been left with an almighty mountain to climb.
