Zimbabwe v Pakistan

At Harare, November 30, 2002

15-Apr-2004
At Harare, November 30, 2002. Pakistan won by eight wickets. Toss: Zimbabwe.
With the series settled, Pakistan rested their opening batsmen and bowlers, and for once Zimbabwe tried batting first. The tactic backfired: a hideous top-order display sent them sprawling to 13 for four, and then 41 for six, against the revamped new-ball attack. Fortunately, Grant Flower, having kept out Mohammad Sami's hat-trick ball, played one of his most defiant innings - his sixth one-day century - with good support from Friend; nobody else reached double figures. Then it was the turn of a fresh group of batsmen to gorge themselves on the Zimbabwean bowling. Kamran Akmal made a dashing start, surviving three hard chances, while Faisal Iqbal, beginning more circumspectly, just had time to record his first century for Pakistan, off 97 balls.
Man of the Match: Faisal Iqbal.
