Albie Morkel, the allrounder who has represented South Africa, Titans, Durham and Chennai Super Kings, is the first to play 100 Twenty20 matches. He reached the milestone in Chennai’s game against Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad.

David Hussey, who has played for Australia, Australia A, Nottinghamshire, Victoria and Kolkata Knight Riders, needs only four more caps during the IPL to join Morkel. With players increasingly plying their trade for Twenty20 teams across continents, expect several more to join them soon.

Players like Mccullum, symonds, dilshan will join this list soon as they play for 4 different franchise.. BCCI has put restrictions to our contracted players not to participate any other county cricket due to hectic international schedules.

its not about the number of t20s its about the achievements of the players.albie and david are very good t20 player but sachin is different.@...sathiya i think your thougts about tendulkars not playing wc is a bit wrong.that man ha represented his country for 2 decades.now he is making the way for youngmen to do the same.sachin is an icon and he have alot of wealth.i dont think he will not do anything that teaches youngmen selfishness

  • C Mahesh on March 29, 2010, 18:35 GMT

Sachin needs some rest. He is not 24 yr old to play each and every game. Moreover he is very very important for the world cup next year. If he played continously if he gets injuired. Then tata bye bye world cup once again.

  • Shahzad Anwar on March 29, 2010, 11:58 GMT

Albie is decent player and hope more people will join him soon as T20 is the most popluar format of cricket presently. In future more players are expected to leave long format of the game to stay fit for T20's to earn more money. ;-) I think South African and English players will maximum number of caps as they play huge number of games in whole year.

  • L4zybugg3r on March 29, 2010, 11:38 GMT

I think it's amazing how people always manage to turn any cricket discussion into something about Sachin. There are other players to appreciate...

  • Debasish on March 29, 2010, 10:54 GMT

Guys! rather then over-burdening Sachin T by playing him for the T20 WC, lets preserve him well for the real WC, the 2011 WC for next year. T20 cricket is not real cricket and it doesn't deserve legends like Sachin T to play in the WC.

  • Rajesh on March 29, 2010, 9:42 GMT

sachin is in the best touch in his carrier.. if sachin played 20-20 wc than no doubt india become champion... 2011 wc is mine...

  • laavanya on March 29, 2010, 9:20 GMT

yup it is a real pleasure to watch the ipl but the problem is that they do not play like this in the world cup.

  • Bil on March 29, 2010, 7:18 GMT

@ameen ...yeah ameen ur right...bcci must also include domestic 20-20 cricket tournaments along with ranji and other tournaments...like other nations do...so that one of our indian player can also be included in that famehall...

  • Shrikant on March 29, 2010, 6:02 GMT

Aahh Sachin,,why u people are calling sachin a god of cricket?he is a god Money Cricket, where there is a Money there is Sachins hundred..If he had played WC t20,when dhoni won he would have retired by now..cos his dream is to get a WC to India..

  • Dave on March 29, 2010, 5:20 GMT

I can't see why SRT doesn't play T20 for India, and I also don't understand why Deccan stacked their batting with retired internationals rather than punt on young hungry up & comers.

  • Sisir from Nepal on March 29, 2010, 4:52 GMT

Why Sachin is Playing Only T20 in the IPL. Its definitely the money behind the league.. What ever reason may be given, fitness to carry for other form of game, giving youth the chances... bla bla bla ..these are all rubbish logic... Simply its the million dollars which lures the Great like Sachin too. Most Indians might not like this or may even call it harsh but the fact is fact.. In IPL each team get a rest of not more than 2 days in between they have to travel too... Is it like only T20I hampers your fitness not the IPL... funny isn't it. Money Money and Money in the IPL...Sachin is no any exception

  • jinas mathew on March 29, 2010, 4:12 GMT

Anyways sachin is going to retire from the cricket after some years. He could have been a part of our world cup 20-20. If he can play such busy schedule like IPL, why cant he give some knocks for the country & get the world cup once again for india. Everywhere money is the big concern (ICCI wont provide match fee like IPL provides)

  • cricman on March 29, 2010, 3:06 GMT

Sachin fans will tell Sachin should be the captain of India if he wins the IPL-3. Crazy people!!!

  • Gopal on March 29, 2010, 2:05 GMT

It is a good decision for Tendulkar to opt out of World T20. He should conserve his energy and body for his primary task of 50 Test centuries and 50 ODI tons. Thats more important and a true test of crocket is Test and Test cricket alone.

  • Nrak on March 29, 2010, 1:19 GMT

Sachin does not want to play because he wants to give the youngsters a shot, in a couple of years he will be gone and he believes India should not rely on him to win it for them :D I love Sachin. Deserves Bharat Ratna :)

  • Sai on March 28, 2010, 23:29 GMT

Nice article. When he hit 3 consecutive sixes yesterday I had a gut feeling that he was going to turn it around for Chennai, but it was not to be. @Lee Pakistan? You don't have a cricket team this time. Thanks to your chaos theory. Pakistan will be steam-rolled this time.

  • Sohin Shah on March 28, 2010, 21:15 GMT

I think bhajji is gonna hit 6 4's in an over someday

  • 72_virgin airways on March 28, 2010, 20:57 GMT

Nice one Albie! Keep going! Underrated but damn effective you are! BTW, did someone say Pakistan will win T20 again? What a joke!! No amount of inshallahs will save you this time. Last time you got lucky 'coz you didn't bump in to us. Remember the 3 drubbings we have handed you thus far. You are yet to defeat us even once. World champions, what a joke!!! In ball eating contests, surely! Otherwise, your team is less than pedestrian. Am sure Afghans will thump you properly..

  • AMEEN on March 28, 2010, 16:44 GMT

I don think any of indian players will be a part of dis famehall for many years to come cuz we play only in IPL and d t20 worldcup...

  • raj kalsi on March 28, 2010, 16:20 GMT

The way Sachin is playing in the IPL, he should have played in T20 WC. It's like- God wanted to play Cricket so he came in the form of Sachin Tendulkar. He is a real treat.

  • mohammed anes on March 28, 2010, 15:17 GMT

thts an interesting fact .... if sachin had played T20 for india he'd be holding the world record for most T20 matches played by a player

  • faisal g m c on March 28, 2010, 14:18 GMT

that is really interesting, i actually thought it might be a player from England to be the first due to the amount of Twenty Twenty they play but then again Albie had played all the IPL and so that is very good.

  • Bharat on March 28, 2010, 14:08 GMT

CSK is fortunate to have Albie Morkel in their team. A decent bowler and a handy lower order batsman who can take bowlers to all parts of the park. Good Luck Albie to play more!!

  • Yogesh Bhosle on March 28, 2010, 12:51 GMT

Vasudev, Its not the selection commitee not including sachin in the T20 squad, its Sachin whi opted out from the T20 internationals. There is vast difference between T20's and T20I's, Its money which playes in IPL and not in the domestic. I dont mean to say that sachin is playing for money alone in IPL, but it's about the fitness he wants to carry over for the rest of his career in ODI's for India. (and the money is the silent patch :-))

  • rishi on March 28, 2010, 11:35 GMT

IPL does not count. What is important is 20-20 internationals. Just like a tally is made of ODI internationals and not national and local games.

I think Sachin should have played in the T20 WC in West Indies this year because he plays the game with a 'silent-assassin' mode of batsmanship. He is a true Master-Blaster.
