Staying with the swiss ball, the primary focus of the exercise is on the back, upper leg / hamstring area but also has a definite core component to it. There is also a few variations that you can use to make it more or less difficult and as you get stronger and are able to perform the movement with more control you can move on to more advanced exercises. For the purpose of this exercises we will only look at the basic hamstring curl on the swiss ball. This exercise is used a lot in rehabilitation of the hamstring muscle group. If performed with regular intervals, with its different variations, it also serves as an effective maintenance exercise and should be done by players suffering with hamstring discomforts/strains.
