Robert Key has been reappointed Kent captain for 2007 and the club have also confirmed that Yasir Arafat, part of Sussex's double-trophy winning team, will be their second overseas player, while Min Patel will be Key's vice-captain.
Graham Johnson, the chairman of cricket, said: "[Rob] has made an excellent start as captain. Like many who have watched Kent this year Rob is eager to see Kent turn our greater competitiveness in 2006 into more tangible results in 2007.
"His commitment to the team has probably impacted on his own form. He is a class player and we look forward to seeing him make the most of his opportunities this winter with the England Academy and, hopefully, regain his England place.
"Min Patel has been an important part of the season in his role as vice captain and has an appetite to be part of a successful campaign in 2007."
However, as expected David Fulton has not been offered a new contract at Canterbury and this is now likely to see the opener retire from first-class cricket after 15 years.
Fulton said that he leaves with no regrets: "It is with great sadness but with no bitterness that I leave the club I have played for, for 15 years and have supported since I was a boy. I have made many friends and enjoyed some great times. I will continue to support the club in any way I can. I wish Rob Key and the boys every success in 2007 and beyond."
Four further players - Simon Cusden, Matt Dennington, Niall O'Brien and David Stiff - have not been offered new deals but the club are close to agreeing terms with Matt Walker and Rob Ferley and are still in discussions with Martin Saggers.
