The Statsguru Awards look beyond the usual numbers - runs scored, wickets taken, batting averages and such - and are based instead on more detailed data analyses of performances in 2007. Which batsman played more consistently than any other over the entire year? Which bowler performed at his best against the top-order batsmen? Who relished tail-end wickets the most?
Cricinfo's ball-by-ball data analyses of every international game offers answers to all these queries and more. The Statsguru Awards are based on these stats. There are a number of categories, and the results are all based entirely on the quantitative analyses of performance throughout the year, which makes these awards definitive and distinctive. And to ensure that the laggards are not forgotten, there are some lemon awards sprinkled in too.
