0.3 to Rahmanullah Gurbaz, goes straight up, and Zimbabwe have their early breakthrough! Hard length again, on leg stump. Gurbaz skips down the track and has a swipe across the line. The ball, though, gets a little too big on him and he cannot control his stroke. Splices it tamely and Bennett does the rest in the extra cover region. Just the start the hosts would have wanted!. 0/1
4.1 to Mohammad Ishaq, nicked and gone! Ngarava is front and centre of Zimbabwe's early charge! Fullish ball in and around off stump. Nibbles away just a smidgen and Ishaq, because of the line, is forced to play at it. All he manages is a feather and Marumani makes no mistake behind the stumps!. 25/3
18.5 to Mohammad Nabi, Nabi finally miscues one, and Ngarava has another! Banged into the track just outside off. Nabi thinks he can smash this over cow corner and has a massive mow at it. Makes a complete hash of it, though, and the ball spoons up for the keeper to gobble up the chance. Ngarava is happy and he celebrates, although his celebration of putting something in his pocket and then walking around thumping his feet into the ground, does feel a little dodgy!. 137/6

5.4 to Hazratullah Zazai, grabbed at the second attempt, and another Afghanistan batter falls! Full outside off. Zazai plants his front foot and looks for that trademark shovel over mid on. Like Atal, does not get it as high as he would have wanted and Burl, who has a juggle at it, eventually gets the job done. Afghanistan four down!. 33/4

3.2 to Sediqullah Atal, superb catch, and Gwandu has a wicket in his first over! Full on middle and off. There to be hit and Atal probably chooses the right option to go over mid on. The problem, however, is in the execution. Does not get under it enough, and that brings the Ngarava into play. He uses his tall frame, reaches out high to his left and pouches it with both hands. Sharp fielding, and Afghanistan have been rocked again!. 24/2

10.4 to Azmatullah Omarzai, goes for the big hit again but succumbs to the temptation this time! Masakadza dangles the carrot outside off and Omarzai bites. He wants to go over the bowler's head but because he is beaten in the air and has to reach out, he drags it. Plenty of elevation but no distance, and Burl, stood at long on, completes a regulation catch. Half of Afghanistan's side is back in the shed!. 58/5

2.6 to T Marumani, in the air and taken! The plan comes off! Slanted in on a length on middle and leg. Marumani plays that pick-up shot well and that is exactly why the field is set this way. Marumani goes aerial and Omarzai, running in from deep backward square leg, makes no mistake!. 11/1
14.3 to Sikandar Raza, and Naveen gets Raza, finally! Slower ball that lands right in the slot outside off. Raza's eyes light up and he laces his cover drive. The only problem, though, is that he hits it uppishly and in Gurbaz's general direction. Gurbaz dives sharply to his right and picks it up inches off the turf. On most days, this might have been a game-changing scalp, but has the damage already been done?. 103/3
18.4 to W Madhevere, straight down Rashid's throat! Slower delivery hung up on a full length wide outside off. Madhevere has no option but to go after it but the ball is just a touch too far away from him. No power on it whatsoever and Rashid completes a simple catch at long off!. 128/6

16.1 to BJ Bennett, Rashid breaks through! Slider on a back of a length on off. Skids off the surface and keeps low. Bennett, shaping to pull it over deep mid wicket, does not account for the extra pace or the lack of bounce and hears the death rattle soon after. Is there a twist in this tale?!. 117/4
16.4 to RP Burl, Rashid has two in the over! Oh my word, the magician is weaving his magic! This is not a great delivery, truth be told, but it gets the job done. On a back of a length just outside leg. Burl moves across and looks to dump it over the deep backward square leg fence. This is to the longer side, though, and that leads to his undoing, with deep backward square leg gobbling up the chance well inside the rope!. 119/5

13.2 to D Myers, when it doubt, turn to Mohammad Nabi! This is fired through quicker, on a length on middle and leg. Myers advances and tries to fight the angle, looking to go over cow corner. No turn on offer, though, and the ball spirals up off the top edge. Ishaq calls early and snares teh chance. Afghanistan with a vital breakthrough!. 86/2
