So on that note it's a wrap from us. On behalf of the rest of the team, this is Madushka signing out.
Max Holden is Player of the Match: "We've got a range of skills in our lineup, few of us have been together for a few years now and we know each other's strengths and weakness. And we have match winners all the way down."
Sam Curran: "Really nice to get the win going into [the Qualifier]. I thought it was a good performance, adjusted to the conditions really well. Maxxy played really well, and then Hasan with some nice strikes to finish it off. It was good for some of the batters to have time out in the middle. The games in Abu Dhabi should be really good. We'll watch tomorrow's games and make sure our plans are well set. Think we've had a fantastic season, winning 8 games out of 10. We should be proud of that."
Sikandar Raza: "[sum up the tournament?] Pretty much whatever could go wrong, went wrong. We lost a lot of our good players, we've had 8 replacements this season - I'm not saying the guys who came in weren't good enough, they were good enough - but I felt like we probably deserve to be where we are because we've played cricket that doesn't deserve to qualify. I know we took it to the last game with a slight hope of qualification, but the truth of the matter is the opposition has always played slightly smarter cricket than us, and we haven't adjusted to the conditions. And we just keep coming up short. [new players?] The guys who stayed back, we're used to the wickets and conditions. You cannot expect a new guy to come in after 5,6 games - or 4 games - and be a match winner, because he also needs time to adjust to these wickets. It's not those flat wickets where people come and start scoring. I think 150 is probably a winning total on all the wickets we played on - and unfortunately we haven't got 150. And for me that's the most painful part. And every time we take the rate up to nines and 10s and we just haven't closed it. [positives?] Harmeet has joined the squad and done really well, Adil has bowled really well. I think the whole bowling unit has been outstanding. In the middle there have been good innings from Abell, Rew, TKC, John...batters could be a bit more consistent but I thought the bowling unit held themselves pretty high. And more often than not we did make a game out of it."
10.09pm Time for the post-match presentation...
Zubair Islam : "Holden is the real player of the match today "
10.01pm Max Holden walks off with Nawaz's arm around his shoulder, both with massive grins on their face. It's 8 wins out of 10 for the Vipers now - the first time the feat has been achieved in the ILT20. Nawaz's cameo of 25 off 14 seals the win - and Warriorz' ultimate fate - but it was Holden with his 66 off 46 that anchored the chase so crucially - first with Sam Curran, then as wickets fell around him, and finally with Nawaz to see things through. The Warriorz for their part fought hard, but it always felt a below par total to defend. And on the whole, they just couldn't bring it all together when needed.
It's on the roof! This was a low full toss, misses the yorker, and Nawaz has just levered this magnificently high over deep midwicket. Absolutely massive hit! And what a time to do it
Follows Holden as he comes down and makes room, right into pads as they run the leg bye
10 needed off 6 then. Vipers will back themselves. Siddique given the responsibility to defend it.
short and rushes him. Scuffed pull to deep square leg for a single
Zubair Islam : "Just one more hit n it's run a ball "
Edged and four! Gave it everything did Holden as this was full and wide. Gets a thick edge on it as it flies past a diving short third
yorker just outside off, looks to work it onside. Ends up knocking it straight into his boot and they sneak a single
early movement across the crease, looks to play a lap sweep over square leg but gets no bat on this as they scamper a single off the deflection off the front pad
Picked up with precision! This was full and straight, looking for the yorker but just can't find the length. Allows Holden to get under it, as he clears the front leg and picks it up towards the deep midwicket boundary
short and slow, pulled to deep midwicket for one
Ngarava is back
Harmeet ends with figures of 29 for 3 despite an expensive final over.
short and wide, cut away to deep point. Just a single
backs away but Harmeet follows him. Punched to extra cover and they scamper a single
wide full toss, slapped down towards sweeper cover for one
High and handsome from Nawaz! Gets right under this quick and full one from Harmeet, and gets a hold of this as sweet as you'd like. Down on one knee and absolute launched over long-on
full on leg, reverse swept towards extra cover. Quick single, and a direct hit at the striker's end. The batter was well in though
No wicket this time! Skips down and smokes this hard and flat over Harmeet, who jumps up to catch this but the ball is already past him
Harmeet to bowl out
good length googly on the stumps, defended on the back foot
Holden now has 301 runs for the season.
googly pushed through flat around off. Back foot punch down to long-off, brings up fifty for Holden
shortish googly, turning away outside off. Cut away through cover for a couple
googly floated up outside leg stump. Defended on the front foot towards cover
tossed up googly, pushed down the ground for one
