Australia Test squad member Josh Inglis has been released to play in the BBL for Perth Scorchers and is set to be named in their squad to face Hobart Hurricanes on Saturday in Hobart.
ESPNcricinfo understands that Inglis flew from Brisbane to Hobart on Thursday and will be included in Scorchers' squad tomorrow, having stayed with Australia's squad for the entire third Test where he sub fielded for most of India's first innings in place of the injured Josh Hazlewood.
Australia are still to announce their squad for the final two Tests but Scorchers' next two matches fit in nicely with the schedule. Scorchers play in Hobart on Saturday then in Melbourne against Renegades on Monday night. That will be the same day as Australia's first optional training session in Melbourne ahead of the Boxing Day Test with their main session to be held on Tuesday. It could give Inglis the chance to play some further cricket after he was retained with Australia's squad for their BBL opener against Melbourne Stars while fellow Test squad member Beau Webster was released to play in Perth.

Brisbane Heat's stand-in skipper and marquee overseas signing Colin Munro is touch and go for the defending champions' season opener against Melbourne Stars while Spencer Johnson is unlikely to play before Christmas and Michael Neser will remain on the sidelines until January.
Heat released their 14-man squad for their opening BBL match at the MCG on Wednesday night with Munro named to captain under new coach Johan Botha while permanent skipper Usman Khawaja is away on Test duty.
But Munro reported tightness in his hamstring at training on Tuesday afternoon and a decision will be made on game day as to whether he takes his place. If he is not passed fit, Queensland vice-captain Mitchell Swepson is likely to lead the team with last summer's title-winning stand-in captain Nathan McSweeney also on Test duty.

Macdonald, who plays for New South Wales in state cricket, recently featured for Victoria in the Global Super League in Guyana and scored 133 at the weekend for St Kilda Cricket Club.

Quick bowler Brendan Doggett has been released from Australia's Test squad to be available for Adelaide Strikers in the opening week of the BBL.
Doggett was called up to the squad ahead of the second Test against India after Josh Hazlewood suffered a side strain and remained with the group for Brisbane.
However, he was not expected to feature in Strikers' opening game against Sydney Thunder in Canberra on Tuesday. He only played one game for Strikers last season.
