James Bracey etched his name into the record books as Gloucestershire batted themselves into a position of strength on the third day of the Vitality County Championhip Second Division match against Glamorgan at Cheltenham.
The former England left-hander registered a career-best 204 not out and became only the tenth player to score a double century at the famous College Ground, joining a select club that includes the likes of Gloucestershire greats WG Grace, Charlie Townsend and Wally Hammond.

A brilliant 107 from Ryan Patel, necessarily watchful at first but buccaneering by its end, built on Jamie Smith's classy 70 and enabled Surrey to reach a second innings 278 and set Essex a formidable 361 to win the top-of-the-table clash at the Kia Oval.
By stumps, they were 21 for two with Nick Browne edging Jordan Clark to keeper Ben Foakes - via a push-up from a diving Smith at third slip - to depart for nine, and nightwatchman Eathan Bosch bowled for one as he shouldered arms in Clark's next over. Dean Elgar is 11 not out.

Half-centuries from Kashif Ali and Adam Hose led Worcestershire to a six-wicket win against Durham at the Seat Unique Riverside, their first win of the Vitality County Championship season.
Ali (76 not out) and Hose (50) came together when the visitors were 65 for three and combined for a partnership worth 129, which took the game away from the hosts, who will be left scratching their heads after they were firmly in the ascendancy prior to the lunch break on day three.

James Vince double-hundred puts Hampshire in complete control

James Vince completed his fourth Vitality County Championship double-century before Hampshire's bowlers cemented the host's advantage on day two.
Hampshire captain Vince showcased the very best of his aesthetically pleasing batting to go from 149 overnight to 211. He was able to declare on 505 for 8, following attacking duo James Fuller's 41 and Keith Barker's 43, before Barker, Mohammad Abbas and Kyle Abbott chipped away with wickets.
