Scorecard and ball-by-ball details
An aggressive declaration on the first day paid off for South Africa A as their fast bowlers skittled Bangladesh A for 156, and by the end of the second day the hosts had the touring side on the ropes. It was an ominous start to the day for Bangladesh A, as they lost Junaid Siddique, who was a member of their World Cup squad, to Quinton Friend off the third ball of the morning. South Africa's new ball bowlers Ethy Mbhalati, who had struck on Thursday evening, and Friend went on to get their second wicket each, and Bangladesh A were struggling at 43 for 4.
There were a couple of starts for the lower-middle order batsmen, but the innings never took off, and Craig Alexander cashed in, taking three wickets to wipe out the tail, and give South Africa A a 145-run first-innings lead.
By the end of the day, their top order had extended that lead to 250 with the loss of just three wickets. Offspinner Nasir Hossain got all three breakthroughs, but the hosts ended the day with their captain Jacques Rudolph batting on 30, and will fancy themselves to set Bangladesh an unassailable target on Saturday.
