2.2 to MT Renshaw, outswinger on sixth stump on a full length, goes to tap this for a single but instead drags on. No footwork by Renshaw and playing away from his body does him in.. 22/1 17.4 to J Weatherald, full on the legs, cramps him for room trying to free the arms. Heaves this to wide long-on where Cartwright charges in 15 yards for a sliding catch at knee height.. 130/4

Hinchcliffe calls off his teammates and latches on.. 42/2 8.6 to IA Cockbain, clever work from Hinchcliffe. Cockbain charged a fraction early and Hinchcliffe responded by dragging a googly much wider outside off. Cockbain flails and misses, simple stumping.. 69/3

4.5 to JM Clarke, digs this in short on fourth stump, Clarke goes for a flat-footed pull and drags a bottom edge into his legs before it flutters off a redirection onto off stump.. 32/2
4 | 0 | 26 | 1 | 6.50 | 10 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | |
17.5 to CD Hinchliffe, full length ball on the legs, heaves this trying to clear deep square leg but that's the deepest side of the ground today and Kelly is underneath it easily five yards inside the rope and takes a catch crouching on his knees to get his head in line and takes it with hands in front of his face.. 121/6
4 | 0 | 26 | 4 | 6.50 | 9 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
2.2 to GJ Maxwell, full and straight at 147 kph, Maxwell goes for another languid flick over midwicket but Thornton's pace is too much and beats him through the gap to knock back middle stump. No real movement. A straight ball that Maxwell plays around.. 21/1 6.3 to BJ Webster, screamer of a one-handed catch by Nielsen diving right! Another half-volley really in the fourth stump channel but Thornton's pace has been too hot to handle and Webster is late driving with no footwork, thick edge and Nielsen moves a touch late but gets the paw out at knee height to latch on.. 37/4 18.2 to HWR Cartwright, shin high full toss on middle, Cartwright swats this flat to Short at cow corner who takes a catch at head height five yards in from the rope. He got plenty of mustard behind the shot, but just no elevation.. 125/7 18.6 to SL Rainbird, full and straight at 134 kph, Rainbird backs away trying to heave over the leg side. It was in the slot to hit but its too fast for Rainbird to catch up to and leg stump is knocked over.. 127/8
4 | 0 | 22 | 1 | 5.50 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
13.6 to JA Burns, juicy knee high full toss on off stump, Burns backs away to drive over cover and swings over the ball. He might want to check his bat to see if there's a hole in it. Not close to being the yorker Siddle was aiming for and Burns not only misses out on a freebie for a boundary but is on his way back to the dugout as off stump is thumped halfway up.. 79/5

5.3 to MP Stoinis, flighted generously and very full on sixth stump, sucked into a drive on a ball that was there to smash but no footwork and slices a thick edge straight to slip taken at head height. It was flighted so high and full that he could have charged it and easily converted it into a full toss to drive down the ground but the tentativeness in his first match back showed.. 33/3 |
