Post-match presentation

Vijay: "There was good bounce in the wicket, and dew around. I just wanted to time the ball rather than hit it. I'm trying to learn as much as I can from Hussey. We are playing good cricket at the moment. "

James Hopes: "We lost our way in the middle of the innings, the batsman haven't done the job again. We had made 50-odd in six overs that usually sets you up for 160. It's a steeping learning curve to be here, and a bit of an eye-opener. We can play with a great deal of freedom in the final game."

Here's a look at the latest points table.

MS Dhoni: "I think it was a very good performance, for the spinners there was a fair amount of dew, it gripped a bit for them ,but they bowled superb lengths. We thought we would be chasing 120-odd runs, but the chase was very well done with the help of Raina, Hussey and Vijay. I think Jadeja will keep improving, the more games he plays, Ashwin is one of the smarter spinners we have, Raina knows what needs to be done. Death bowling is still an area we need to improve, but it is tough for every team. People of Ranchi always want a six."

Man of the Match is Michael Hussey: "I certainly don't feel it (younger). I'm a bit embarrassed to be here actually, I thought Ashwin was a good shout for Man of the Match. The spinners did a great job. Excellent conditions here, I've really enjoyed the stadium and the crowds as well. To get through to the semi-finals was the first goal, and it is great to be there."

That's a wrap from our coverage of this game. Last line goes to Gaurav: "Bend it like Beckham and finish it like Dhoni.." Seeya tomorrow!

Cutting to Dhoni, SIX runs

the crowd goes wild as Dhoni finishes off in grand style, a length ball is pummelled to the long-off boundary, an eight-wicket win (another similarity with the first game of the day) sends CSK through to the semi-finals, Heat heading home

Kamal: "And CSK got Hussey for Base price. Probably the best ROI ever for any player in IPL. Apart from winning matches, you could see how he helps other Indian players to evolve. Vijay , for example, has become a better Test player now."

Cutting to Dhoni, FOUR runs

short ball just outside off, that sat up for Dhoni, muscular shot sends that past deep square leg for four

Cutting v Dhoni, the match-up we've been waiting for (sort of).

Cutting to Hussey, 1 leg bye

back of length on the leg stump, single towards point

Cutting to Hussey, FOUR runs

shortish ball just outside off, Hussey goes for the pull, doesn't time the ball properly but gets it in the gap wide of deep midwicket, another boundary

Kuldeep: "Barring today, Vijay has really been underperforming for CSK this year. Clearly, if Hussey is Mr.Cricket for CSK, then Vijay has been Mr.Wicket for the opposition!!"

Cutting to Hussey, no run

length ball is defended towards the bowler

Gannon to Dhoni, no run

short of length ball outside off, defended towards backward point

Gannon to Dhoni, 2 runs

short of length ball well outside off, steered towards deep backward point for a couple

Gannon to Hussey, 1 run

on the pads once more, clipped towards square leg

David: "Dont forget that the better 20/20 Aussie teams are not even here. Brisbane and Perth were only through as other teams had a lot of players missing last season. So Brisbane cant complain now the roles are reversed"

Gannon to Dhoni, 1 run

first ball is powerfully swatted towards deep square leg, it was short and just outside off

Gannon to Hussey, 1 run

again the wrong line, down the leg side, helped along to fine leg for a single, another massive cheer, not for Hussey's batting but because the crowd favourite Dhoni is on strike

Ravi: "To make CLT more competitive, for every player a local team loses to an IPL team, they should be allowed to borrow someone of their choice from the other domestic teams that did not qualify for the CLT"

Gannon to Hussey, FOUR runs

short of length ball on leg stump, Hussey gets inside the line of that one and firmly helps it past fine leg for four, another risk-free T20 half-century for Hussey

MS Dhoni walks out to a deafening roar from the crowd. Chants of 'Dhoni, Dhoniu,' ring round the crowd

Gaurav: "Another sensible performance from Mr.Cricket. This guy is a gem really. CSK is really lucky to have Hussey."

Christian to Raina, OUT

Raina's innings is over, that was angling in towards the pads, Raina was looking to work that to the leg side, he misses and is hit on the pads, was that going on to hit leg stump, the umpires certainly thinks so

Suresh Raina lbw b Christian 23 (23m 15b 1x4 2x6) SR: 153.33
Christian to Hussey, 1 run

angling in towards the pads, single towards square leg

Christian to Raina, 1 run

nearly sneaked past Raina that one, short of length ball skidding on towards off and middle, guided towards backward point

Christian to Hussey, 1 run

fuller this time, angling in towards middle, clipped behind square leg for one more

Christian to Hussey, no run

length ball on off stump, pushed back to Christian

Christian to Raina, 1 run
