At the innings break, it seemed that the Reds total was a little under par, and it proved to be so.

The Reds bowlers couldn't create enough pressure and a couple of good partnerships would have settled any nerves that the young Warriors would have had.

Scott MacBeth was the star of the innings and finished off top scoring with 40 off only 24 balls. A fifth wicket partnership with Melly took the Warriors to the victory with four overs to spare.

By hitting the final ball for six, it also means that the Warriors pick up a welcome bonus point to start off the competition.

It's just been announced that McKeegan has been named the player of the match for his excellent bowling display. So congratulations to him for that.

All three days in Cork are going to be double headers, with the next game today between The Lightning and the Knights starting at 3:30pm. Hopefully you'll be able to join me then.

Until then, this is Justin saying goodbye from Cork.
