Knights vs NW Warriors, 18th Match at Bready, INTER-PRO T20, Jul 03 2025 - Ball by Ball Commentary
3pm - Bad news everyone. The rain that has been falling steadily as soaked the outfield and there is no prospect of play. The game has been abandoned. What a shame.
With both teams picking up 2 points, it does mean that with the Lightning being 16 points clear, they have won the IP20 title with 6 games still to go. Congratulations to them.
Thanks for following along these three days. It's been great to bring you coverage of all the action, even if it's ending in a damp squib today. Next Tuesday the show will start again in Pembroke, Dublin. For the final festival of the season. Please join me then.
Until then, this is Justin saying goodbye from Bready
Afternoon everyone. Welcome to the final game here at Bready in the Cricket Ireland IP20 festival, as we close out the third week of games. What a game that we have to finish. We have another instalment of the battle of the North, with the North West Warriors taking on the Northern Knights. It's Justin Smyth, and I'll be here on ESPNCricinfo bringing you coverage of all the action out there in the middle as the festival ends.
t's been a mixed festival for the Warriors, a good win against the Reds was followed by a huge loss against the Lightning. Once again it's been their batting that's let them down. It's been their Achillies heel all season, and they will need to be on top form today if they are going to take down their northern neighbours. With a good crowd expected this afternoon, can they give their home fans something to cheer?
All season long we have been waiting for the Stirling/Adair opening partnership to click, and yesterday we finally saw what they can do. A 132-run partnership, in less than 10 overs was impressive. In fact, not only was the ball smashed to all parts of the ground, Ross Adair took out one of the glass doors in the Pavilion too.
With the first game of the day washed out, we have to hope that it will stop at some point and we get some play today. You always know at Bready that if you can't see the hills behind the ground, then we are in trouble. We can't see the hills at the minute. Let's hope that the strong wind blow these clouds away and we can play. Will keep you updated as things progress.
