De Villiers is up again:"It's not a World Cup, but for us it's a huge step in the right direction. Angelo and his boys have been playing a lot of good cricket. Interestingly, Tahir and Herath were the bowlers of the day. They will face off again at Galle, which is sure to take loads of spin. That's a good contest to watch as the teams move to red-ball cricket.
De Villiers was the difference between the sides in this match. What an innings his hundred was. SL looked good in the Powerplay, but then Sanga and Dilshan fell in quick succession, and Mahela's mediocre ODI run continued. Mathews and Priyanjan were shackled by good bowling and excellent fielding, while the wind died down a bit to make things easier for SA.
Imran Tahir, Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers and Ryan McLaren have been fantastic in this series. Sri Lanka were hot and cold and fell apart in the field when Malinga had a few off days.
Huge wide smiles for South Africa. AB de Villiers in particular. They were not fancied before this series, but they have been focused and intense in game one and game three. The victors get into an ecstatic huddle before they shake hands. It means a lot to them after the 4-1 drubbing last year.
