taps to point to complete the one required to take Australia to a convincing win in their last group match
IRE Women vs AUS Women, 16th Match, Group A at Delhi, Mar 26 2016 - Ball by Ball Commentary
AUS Women won by 7 wickets (with 40 balls remaining)
5.50pm An utterly dominant and clinical chase from Australia, completing the win with seven wickets and 40 balls to spare. Ireland did not have enough with the ball and were not helped with just 91 on the board. Australia came out with good intent and made it look comfortable, were never really in any trouble. Australia are level with NZ on points but have finished their group games. NZ play later today and a win for them will help Australia book a spot in the the semis. Sri Lanka have been knocked out. South Africa have to win both their games and by a margin big enough to put them ahead of Australia on NRR. But, Australia have done all they could today.
Megan Schutt is the Player of the Match: We needed to win well and showed what we got today. We had to win first. It's been a bit more true (this wicket).
Meg Lanning: "Thought our bowlers set the tone early. They got away in the Powerplay but to restrict them to 91, allowed our batters to play freely. Built good momentum early in the tournament. We'll be ready to go. Hopefully NZ can have a win and we'll get to the semis first."
Isobel Joyce: "Flashes of good play but our inexperience showed in the end. Good tournament but no one wants to lose four in a row so we'll try to make sure it doesnt happen again."
what power from Perry. Full on off, drilled wide of long-on with immense power. The fielder did not have to move too much but she had no chance

gone this time. Looking for a bit hit to get this game done but she picks out cover. Full on off, Villani keeps her shape and tries to go over mid-off but the ball skews off the outside half, straight down the throat of the cover fielder
full outside off, smashed down to mid-off

shortish outside off, cut to deep point. Just the one

mis-timed again and that is what saves Villani. Flat outside off, skewed to long-off with the spin
not quite short this time, chopped towards point for a quick single
sees the batsman coming and shortens the length outside off, smashed down to long-off
taken, but is it over waist? A filthy full toss on leg is heaved into the hands of deep square leg. Definitely looks over waist height to me. The third umpire is called for. And that will be a no-ball. So, a free hit to follow.
superb from Perry, showing her class now. Hurries back, gets a short delivery and she plays the cut late enough to guide the ball in the gap behind point
drilled to cover, a bit of a misfield give Aus one more
badly timed. Villani looks for another heave but chips to long-on instead. Lucky, that did not come off the middle or close to it
ugly mow. Full on off, Villani inside-edges back to her body
Australia looking at NRR now
Villani gets four this time, gets down low and sweeps past short fine leg. Dragged the sweep from outside off.
compensates with a very short delivery outside off, crunched to deep point
oh yes, beautiful shot. Perry runs to the pitch, gets there and just lofts the drive right over the bowler's head
