Waqar Younis' figures (4-0-38-0) are the second most expensive by
a Pakistani bowler in a four over spell after Asif Mujtaba who had
the figures of 4-0-43-0 against England at Nottingham on 20-08-1992.Younis' figures are also the most expensive by a bowler in a four
over spell against Australia. The previous worst figures were 4-0-37-0
for Shaib Akhtar at Lord's on 20-06-1999 (in World Cup final).Wasim Akram by conceding 65 runs in his 10 overs recorded his
worst ever figures in his ODI career (now spanning 15 years and 291
matches) in which he bowled his full quota of ten overs Akram had
conceded 63 runs in full 10 overs on two occasions-v India at
Jamshedpur on 26-03-1987 and v Australia at Lahore on 30-10-1994.
However Akram's worst ever bowling figures still remains as 8.5-0-70-1
also against Australia at Brisbane on 08-01-1989.Saeed Anwar,when on 15,completed his 7000 runs in ODIs in his
197th match (and 194th innings). He became third Pakistani after Javed
Miandad (7381 runs in 233 matches) and Salim Malik (7171 runs in 283
matches) and ninth batsman in ODI history to do so. Anwar is third
fastest after Desmond Haynes (187) and Sachin Tendulkar (189) in terms
of least innings taken to achieve this milestone.Glenn McGrath (5-49) captured five wickets in a match for fourth
time in his career. Now only Waqar Younis (9),Lance Klusener,Saqlain
Mushtaq,Richard Hadlee and Wasim Akram (5 each) have taken five wicket
hauls on more occasions than McGrath (Aqib Javed and Curtly Ambrose
have also four -five wicket hauls on their name).It was second time McGrath took five wicket haul against Pakistan
(the other occasion being the final of Wills Series at Lahore on 30-
10-1994 when he captured 5 for 52). McGrath became only second bowler
after Ian Bishop to capture five wickets against Pakistan on more than
one occasion.Adam Gilchrist performed the allround feat of scoring a fifty and
effecting three dismissals in same match for the fifth time in his
career-most by any 'keeper. Gilchrist was previously at level with
England's Alec Stewart with four such instances.The margin of victory (152 runs) was Australia's joint fourth
largest in ODIs.Australia had beaten SriLanka at Adelaide on 28-01-
1985 by 232 runs,India by 162 runs at Nottingham on 13-06-1983, England
