The pair of Gilchrist and Waugh has an aggregate of 3589 runs from 82 innings in which they have opened the innings for Australia together at an average of 43.76, while Boon and Marsh had an aggregate of 3524 runs from 88 outings keeping an average of 40.05. Now only the West Indian pair of Greenidge and Haynes (5150 in 102) and Indian pair of Ganguly and Tendulkar (4510 in 96) are ahead of Gilchrist and Waugh. Mark Waugh (36) on 24, completed his 4000 runs in floodlit matches in his 114 matches and 110 innings. He became the first batsman to do so.

Mark Waugh was run-out for the 30th time in his career which puts him at par with Sri Lanka's Arjuna Ranatunga. Now only Pakistan's Wasim Akram (34) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (32) and India's Mohammad Azharuddin (32) have been dismissed on more occasions in this fashion than Mark Waugh.

Australia's total (291-6) was its highest against Zimbabwe in a floodlit match. This obliterated the previous highest of 263 for seven in allotted 50 overs at Colombo RP on 26-08-1996.

The total was also the highest made against Zimbabwe in a floodlit match bettering Sri Lanka's 276 for nine in 50 overs at Sharjah on 25-10-2000.

The catch of Streak was 50th for Michael Bevan. He became the 42nd fielder in the ODI history and seventh Australian after Allan Border (127 catches in 273 matches), Steve Waugh (103 in 302), Mark Waugh (98 in 226), Shane Warne (59 in 155), Mark Taylor (56 in 113) and Dean Jones (54 in 164) to do so.

By taking 151 matches to do so, Bevan became the slowest among the Australians to reach this aggregate bettering Dean Jones' record who took his 50th catch in his 147th match. Incidentally the distinction of being the slowest in all ODIs to do so goes to Sri Lanka's Arjuna Ranatunga who took as many as 224 matches for his 50 catches. The catch of Nkala was 100th dismissal for Adam Gilchrist in day-night matches. He was playing his 54th match. He became only the second wicketkeeper after compatriot Ian Healy who had a tally of 111 dismissals (92 ct + 19 st) from 79 appearances.
