Scorecard
Sussex may be closing in on a famous and highly unlikely victory in the County Championship, but it is clearly at the expense of their one-day form. After this latest defeat - more comprehensive than the scoreline suggests - they remain rooted to the bottom of the National League Second Division, with just three wins out of 14. Their destroyer on this occasion was that most temperamental of one-day heroes, Steve Harmison, who located his radar to devastating effect in the middle of Sussex's innings. Though he opened with his usual diet of wides and no-balls, he blew away Sussex's tail with four late wickets, after Paul Collingwood had dismissed the in-form Tony Cottee. Martin Love fell for a duck early in Durham's reply, but Collingwood anchored the run-chase with 45, and Jonathan Lewis survived a late clatter of wickets to seal the victory.
