New Zealand pace bowler Shane Bond has re-entered the LG ICC ODI bowling rankings in 14th place after topping the averages in the Videocon tri-series in Zimbabwe.
Bond, whose career has been blighted by injury, topped the bowling averages in his first ODI series for New Zealand for over two years. He is now New Zealand's third ranked bowler behind Daniel Vettori (ninth) and Jacob Oram (11th).
It was a disappointing series for India's Rahul Dravid who averaged only 12.80 with the bat and consequently fell six spots in the rankings to 20th place. Dravid was ranked sixth in the LG ODI batting rankings as recently as May 2005.
The matches in the Videocon series followed the form guide provided by the LG ICC ODI Championship in that both New Zealand and India won their matches against Zimbabwe while New Zealand (ranked third) won two out of its three matches against India (ranked seventh). This meant there were no changes to the positions of the sides in the official table.
Sri Lanka continues to have a comfortable hold on second place after winning all three of its recent matches against Bangladesh.
