Nearly 19 years ago, a small patch of land outside the Rwandan capital of Kigali turned into a killing field. Now, as the Guardian reports, plans are afoot to build a cricket stadium near the site, in a bid to foster the game in a war-ravaged country.
The game was introduced after thousands of Rwandans, having grown up playing cricket in exile in nearby countries such as Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, came home to rebuild their lives after the genocide.
