The Cayman Islands' ICC Associate Membership application is not the only cricket news out of the Caribbean territory.

"Many things are happening for Cayman in cricket. The following is a breakdown of activities and an over view of the senior competitions.
Cayman's application for Associate membership of the International Cricket Council is on the agenda for the ICC meeting on June 22 in London.
Cayman's senior team begins training this week in preparation for the International Cricket Council Americas tournament scheduled for August 5-12 in Canada.
Cayman took part in a Miami 6-A-side tournament (May 27/28) and came up with a creditable second postion. The other teams had former and present Test players, namely Courtney Browne, Roland Holder, Clayton Lambert and regional players. Caymans did itself proud.
Cayman's under 15 national team is hard in training under coach Andy Myles for the tour of Bermuda from July 26 to August 5.
Two coaches, Andy Myles and Chris Wight, attended a West Indies Cricket Board run senior course from May 31-June 4 in Trinidad. Name participants were Elquomeido Willett, David Williams and Courtney Browne. Local national coach Theo Cuffy assisted the tutors on this course.
Two Cayman teams, (women and men) participated in the first Windball tournament for America, held in Orlando, Florida from June 8-11.
Local Windball tournaments, (women and men) concluded on May 29 at the Smith Road Oval.
Senior competitions (league) are heading for an exciting climax. Cayman's two top teams, Byrite and Prison, meet in the last round to decide the Division 1 winners. Check out the action at the Jimmy Powell Oval on Sunday 18 from 11.30am.

Deloitte & Touche and Greenies (2) are joint champions in Division 2. Greenies (2) outplayed Health Services in a rescheduled match to catch Deloitte & Touche at the wire.

Prison Sports Club has adopted Red Bay Primary School. This is the first local cricket club to move in this direction. It is hoped that many more would follow.
Primary Schools
St.Ignatius Primary is in the lead after three rounds as the only undefeated team. Others close behind are George Town, Red Bay and Savannah Primary schools. It's still early, so be on the look out for Bodden Town, West Bay, new team, Truth for Youth, under coach Eddie Solomon, and Cayman Prep with the late drive.
