Dan Christian was left with a sore head after Nottinghamshire's NatWest Blast triumph, but not in the way he would have expected.

Christian, Nottinghamshire's T20 captain, was sporting a black eye having been caught in the face by the trophy when it was handed to him at the presentation

"That's why you play. Thanks to the presentation lady for the black eye!" he tweeted on Saturday evening, pictured with his medal.

Christian was a key figure in Nottinghamshire's success with 356 runs at a strike-rate of 153.44 and 11 wickets in the 16 matches. In the final he struck 24 off eight deliveries to lift Nottinghamshire to 190 for 4 which included taking a decisive 23 off the final over from Olly Stone.
