Darren Gough has been buoyed by news that Yorkshire CCC have been receiving up to 70 emails a day expressing support for him.
Gough has been hurt by criticism from within the county he has served for more than 10 years. "I was disappointed to read what people were saying about me, but this has turned it around. This has really pleased me," he said.
Gough's inclusion on the list of centrally contracted players, and the decision by the England management to rest players, has led to him only playing three championship matches this season. Some Yorkshire members, including Brian Close, have expressed disappointment about Gough's rare appearances, and it emerged that the England star had received hate mail. The situation was exasperated this week when Gough announced that he was to move his family home from Yorkshire to Buckinghamshire.
