Pakistan are slightly ahead of India in the betting as
the Samsung Cup kicks off in Multan on Sunday.
Pakistan are 11/5 to win the first Test, and 6/4 for the
series. India, meanwhile, are 8/5 to win the series
and 12/5 to win the first Test.
Of the twenty Tests between the sides in Pakistan there have been an astonishing
15 draws, so the fact that the draw is 20/21 favourite
is probably justified. Given the strength of the Indian batting line-up in
particular, these odds may surprise some. However
punters should remember that India have never won a
Test match in Pakistan.
The series odds offer interesting value if you want to predict the outcome of the series.
Indian fans looking to back their side to win a the Test and series can get excellent odds.
A 1-0 series win for India is astonishingly good value at 5/1, while
the bookies feel that a 1-0 win for Pakistan is most
likely (9/2 favourite). Given the thrills of the
One-day series, many would be shocked if the series
ends up being a 0-0 bore-draw, but with bet365 offering
odds of 8/1 it may be worth a look.
