Former Victoria batsman Geoff Allardice has been named the ICC's new general manager, cricket. Allardice, who had previously worked with Cricket Australia, takes over from South Africa's Dave Richardson, the ICC's newly appointed chief executive.
Allardice, 45, worked with the Australian board over the past decade, most recently as general manager, cricket operations. He played 14 first-class games and four list A matches for Victoria between 1991 and 1994.
Richardson, talking about Allardice's appointment, said he was a "great addition to the ICC team". "Geoff has a wealth of knowledge and experience, gained during his time with Cricket Australia," Richardson said. "I am looking forward to working with him and deploying his undoubted talent at the ICC."
