India v Pakistan 1999-2000

At Dhaka, June 3 (day/night)

15-Apr-2001
At Dhaka, June 3 (day/night). Pakistan won by 44 runs. Toss: Pakistan. International debut: A. Bhandari.
Pakistan made another flying start; Saeed Anwar and Imran Nazir hit 14 fours between them as they put on 74 in 12.2 overs. But both fell within four balls to Kumble's leg-spin and, when Agarkar bowled Inzamam-ul-Haq next over, Pakistan were on the back foot. Yousuf Youhana led the recovery with a canny 100, his first fifty occupying 90 balls, his second just 23, with the last ball of the innings, from Kumaran, despatched over long-on for six. India's batsmen were unable to settle: Abdur Razzaq again proved the pick of the bowlers, with four for 29, after Wasim Akram's dismissal of Ganguly set Pakistan on their way. Jadeja scored a brave 93 in what quickly became a lost cause - made all the more difficult because two overs were docked for a slow over-rate. Defeat eliminated India from the competition.
Man of the Match: Yousuf Youhana.
