International teams touch down at QCHQ

Queensland Cricket Headquarters at Albion will host three International cricket teams next week as Australia, South Africa and New Zealand prepares for One Day tournaments this month

Queensland Cricket Headquarters at Albion will host three International cricket teams next week as Australia, South Africa and New Zealand prepares for One Day tournaments this month.

The Australian and South African teams will use the facilities at the Allan Border Field and Ray Lindwall Oval to prepare for the PENTASOFT Super Challenge 2000 at Melbourne's Colonial Stadium, the first One Day International series to be played indoors. New Zealand will play two practice matches enroute to a one day tournament in Singapore

Australia will assemble in Brisbane on Wednesday August 9, train on Thursday August 10 and Saturday August 12 and play a Queensland XI in two, one-day practice matches on Friday August 11 and Sunday August 13.

South Africa will fly into Brisbane on Saturday morning and train that day and Sunday before heading to Melbourne on Monday, August 14 to prepare for the first PENTASOFT Super Challenge 2000 match on Wednesday August 16.

New Zealand will fly into Brisbane on Saturday August 12, train on Sunday August 13 and play two, one-day practice matches against a Queensland XI on Monday August 14 and Tuesday 15.

The Queensland XI will be made up of XXXX Queensland Bulls and Queensland Academy of Sports players and is expected to be announced on Friday.

All matches will be played on the Allan Border Field and admission to all games will be free. A full schedule of training times will be provided once they are confirmed.
