Kenya's squad head to Mombasa on Thursday to finish preparations for the five-ODI series against Zimbabwe which starts on January 27.
Zimbabwe arrive straight from Bangladesh where they have shown excellent form in beating the hosts twice. While their batting has continued to look suspect, their bowling and fielding has been excellent and although Kenya beat them the last time they met - last October - they will come into the series as favourites.
Despite local media reports to the contrary, vice-captain Thomas Odoyo, who was taken ill at the start of the year, has regained fitness and is set to play in Mombasa.
The side is further boosted by the return of teenage batsman Seren Waters who joined the squad after taking time out to travel around Africa.
But Mombasa Sports Club batsman Amit Bhudia, who newspapers claimed was returning to the side, has yet to shake off a shoulder injury.
